Earl Pishioneri, 95

Earl Pishioneri, 95, passed away on January 15, 2021, in Green Valley, Arizona.  He was born in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania on October 31, 1925 to Joseph and Felicia (Dattilo) Pishioneri.  He served as a Seaman First Class aboard the USS Chew (Pearl Harbor) during WW II.  He joined the Air Force in 1950 where he served in the Strategic Air Command as an air refueling operator at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson, Wurtsmith AFB in Michigan, and Castle AFB in California.  He retired in 1968 as a Master Sergeant and returned to college where he earned an AA in Humanities from Merced College and a BA in Sociology from California State University at Fresno.  After working for Job Corp as a staff counselor, he retired a second time and relocated to Oregon.   He was a resident of Eugene and Florence, Oregon for almost 40 years, and moved to Green Valley in 2018.

He was much loved by his family and made many friends of all ages.  He especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was hunting or fishing with his children, or hiking and birdwatching with his wife.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sylvia (SanChez) Pishioneri; daughters Diane Davis of Louisville, Kentucky, Linda Runyan of Eugene, Oregon sons Steven (Debra) Pishioneri of Auburn, Washington and Joseph (Mary) Pishioneri of Springfield, Oregon; sister Betty Pesce of Ellwood City; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.  Preceding him in death are his parents and brothers Frank, Joseph, Albert, Bruno and James; and sisters Catherine Ippolito and Mary Tammaro.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 11 AM with Fr. Mark L. Thomas.  Friends may call at the church from 10 AM until the time of the Mass at 11 AM.  Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.

Family suggests memorial contributions can be made in Earls name to Skye’s Spirit Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, 889 Farren Furrena Rd., Harrisville, PA 16038.

A Celebration of Life is planned in Eugene, Oregon later this summer.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory.
