Mrs. Patricia “Pat” J. Gerello, 85, of Ellport passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 13, 2021 in her loving daughter’s home following a brief illness, with her family at her side.
“It is with great sadness that we say “Goodbye” for now to our dear mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, but our sadness is tempered by knowledge that she will be reunited with her loved ones and will one day welcome all of us home.”
Born October 29, 1935 in New Brighton, the daughter of the late Faye and Ellen Teets. She attended New Brighton High School and graduated from Ambridge Nursing School, as a licensed practical nurse. She worked at various facilities in the surrounding area for more than 40 years. She was a faithful active member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Ellwood City where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She was active in The Legion of Mary, The Mystical Rose Society and The Knots of Love. She served as president of Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers, Ellwood City Women’s Club and Ellwood Municipal Women’s Club. She enjoyed baking, gardening, crocheting and making flower arrangements.
Surviving are two daughters, Brenda (Rick) Brandenberger of Chuluota, Florida and Patty (Frank) Ierino of Ellport, two daughters-in-law, Beverly Gerello of Daugherty Twp., and Shari Comianos of Neshannock Twp.; ten grandchildren, Brian (Hannah), Jarrod (Misty), Tony, Vincent, Matthew, Maria Gerello, Steven and Nicole Branderberger, Michael and Nicholas Ierino; eleven great-grandchildren, two sisters Judith Barnett and Bonita Rowan and one brother-in-law, Frank (Sally) Gerillo and many nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Vincent whom she married on February 16, 1953 and two sons, Frank and Rodney.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ehrenberg and his staff, as well as Grane Hospice, for their compassion and care.
Memorial contributions may be made to Grane Hospice in her honor.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, January 18, 2021 at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church from 10-11 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow with Father Mark Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Holy Redeemer Cemetery. The funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc..
Those attending are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing per COVID-19 CDC guidelines.
