Harold “Pete” Shipe, 88

Harold “Pete” Shipe, 88, of Ellwood City, formerly of Valencia, passed away in his residence on Monday, December 14, 2020 after an extended illness.

Born in Munhall, PA on August 17, 1932, Pete was the son of the late Albert and Jennie Ahlberg Shipe.  He married the former Carol Coleman on May 2, 1959.  Pete retired from Midland Title Insurance, where he worked as a title examiner.  A Veteran of the US Army, Pete served during the Korean War and later in the US Army Reserves.  He was a member the Mars VFW Post 7505.  Pete enjoyed hunting and he loved to garden.

In addition to his wife, Carol, Pete is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Dolores Shipe of Ross Township, his daughter, Marcey Shipe and her fiancée, Ken Treusch of Elizabeth, PA, five grandsons; Ryan Privett, Peter, John, Philip & Daniel Shipe and two brothers, Robert (Donna) Shipe of Saxonburg, PA and Gerald Shipe of Indiana, PA.

In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.

Interment will take place in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.
