Mrs. Pauline Conforti, 88, peacefully passed away at her home surrounded by family Wednesday, December 9, 2020. Pauline was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the perfect example of a strong matriarch for her family, a pillar of her community, and woman of God.
Born July 4, 1932 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Theresa DeCaro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cosmo Conforti, siblings Peter DeCaro, Ernest DeCaro, Helen Giancola, son-in-law Ron Salzano, and her granddaughter Cassondra Conforti. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Ralphetta and Gary Smiley, Bernadette and Larry Honsaker, Teresa Conforti-Kosele and John Kosele, Anthony Conforti, Angela and Michael Lauster, her grandchildren and their spouses Joe and Shannon Valentino, Amanda and Joshua Carr, Jessica Brown, Jeremy and Victoria Honsaker, Lisa Lanham, Christina and Matthew Feschak, Daniel Brown, Ashlea Conforti, Travis Lauster and Courtney Bell, Alexandra Conforti, Ryan Lauster, Abigail Conforti, 12 great-grandchildren, Phoebe, Mallory, Nicholas, Ava, Jordan, Gina, Nico, Savannah, Sullivan, Emmett, Nadiya, Mitchell, and Vonda; her brothers John and Theresa DeCaro and Angelo DeCaro, sisters in law Carol DeCaro, Aurora Hampton, Octavia Stoyanoff, Eleanor and Fonce Angelucci, Rosemarie Nocera, Norma McAllister, and special family friend Louise Bollinger.
She was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish and its Christian Mothers, a volunteer with Meals on Wheels, and an avid cook and baker. Pauline loved to be surrounded by friends and family. In the summer, you could likely find her enjoying nice weather from her front porch when she wasn’t cheering on one of her children, grandchildren, or great grandchildren at a ballgame. Pauline was a kind¬¬¬-hearted, honest friend to all and will be so deeply missed by many. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Holy Redeemer Angel Fund.
A mass of Christian burial for Pauline will be held on Thursday at the Holy Redeemer Church at 10:00 am with Father Mark Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Those attending the mass are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing. The funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.
