Mayor Anthony J. Court presented a proclamation to the Ellwood City girls volleyball team, remarking on the team’s outstanding accomplishments.
The team finished with a 17-1 overall record earning a Class 2A, Section 1 championship and WPIAL Finals appearance.
“Proud of this special group on an outstanding season!” said Mayor Court in a statement. “Congratulations girls!”
The Wolverines were ousted by North Catholic 3-1 in the WPIAL Class 2A championship November 7 at Fox Chapel, suffering their lone defeat of the season. Ellwood City earned its championship game berth with an impressive victory over Avonworth in the semifinals (READ MORE)
