In a letter released on the district website this week by Superintendent Bret Trotta, the Riverside Beaver County School District has announced a COVID-19 Dashboard. The statement reads as follows:
Dear Riverside Families,
In an effort to maintain open lines of communication with our families and reduce the number of phone calls associated with COVID-19, the Riverside Beaver County School District will begin to maintain the RBCSD COVID-19 Dashboard. This information can be accessed from the district website homepage under the tab [Coronavirus]. We will be using this informational document to provide the community with updates regarding the incident numbers throughout grade spans within the district. If there is a need for the district to take immediate action on a specific case, we will notify families as necessary via the district all call system.
Families of any student who are considered a “close contact” of the individual who has tested positive will be personally notified via phone with further details from the Department of Health or School Nurse. . (The PA DoH defines a close contact as any individual within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes.) Unless an individual has been personally contacted by the PA DoH or our School Nurse, we can reasonably assure you that your child has not been identified as a “close contact” of a positive case.
This RBCSD COVID-19 dashboard will be updated on a regular basis and encompass all grade levels within our district. The grade spans have been allocated as the following: Pre K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. This delineation between the grade spans allows the district to make decisions on the potential closure of areas impacted by incidents within the district. With all of our safety protocols and procedures, we have the ability to mitigate and trace the locations of all students and staff members. In addition to the specifics of our plan, we will continue our consultation with the PA Department and Heath (PA DoH).
Our ability to continue to offer in-person instruction and extracurricular activities is a result of everyone in our community faithfully following all health guidelines and reporting crucial information to the district. It is vital that we maintain open lines of communication so that we can limit any further incidents in the buildings.
Please continue to utilize our Health and Wellness Screening Tool on a daily basis. If the student is symptomatic or may have been in close contact with a positive case, the student should self-quarantine and notify
the school nurse. Further consultation may be necessary to receive additional guidance from the student’s primary care physician.
Thank you for helping us provide a safe and healthy environment for all of our students and staff members. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the COVID-19 Dashboard, please contact the building administrator.
Sincerely, Bret Trotta
