POLICE REPORTS: Criminal Complaints

The following are police criminal complaints filed at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Lawrence County office of Honorable Jerry G. Cartwright.

Dorothy Haswell, 45, of Ellwood City, is charged with Simple Assault and Harassment after an incident on Friday, September 25.  According to the criminal complaint, the victim stated that on the night prior, Haswell walked into her residence without knocking or permission around 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 24.  After a verbal confrontation Haswell jumped over the coffee table in the residence and assaulted the victim.  The victim later came to the ECPD to place her report. Reporting officer observed brusing to the victim’s face and forehead and a black eye.

Anthony Cirelli, 31, of Ellwood City, is charged with Simple Assault and Harassment after an incident on September 22 in Ellport.  According to the criminal complaint, after a verbal argument at approximately 11:30 a.m. regarding living arrangements between Cirelli, the victim and a third party.  The victim stated that Cirelli became upset and punched the victim several times and beat the victim with an ash tray stand in the legs and hip area.  Police later located Cirelli in Burnstown and were taken to Magistrate Cartwright’s office on active warrant arrests.

David Burdick, 38, of New Castle, is charged with Robbery, Criminal Attempt, and Harassment after a report of a robbery at Sheetz parking lot on US-422 on September 17 around 9:00 p.m.  According to the report, the victim has arrived at Sheetz to use an ATM machine and withdrew money and that the victim’s ex-boyfriend, Burdick, pulled into the parking lot beside here and engaged in a verbal altercation with the victim over the money.  The victim entered Sheetz to make her cash withdraw but was followed by Burdick.  When the victim returned to her car after making the cash withdraw, Burdick, continued to engage in arguing with the victim and then lunged at the victim in an attempt to steal the cash from inside her vehicle. Police later reviewed surveillance video from the Sheetz store and confirmed details of the confrontation. Based on the video, police have issued a warrant for Burdick.

Michael Ackerman, 53, of Ellwood City, is charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Controlled Substance after a traffic stop at CVS Pharmacy parking lot on September 20. After a traffic stop was conducted on suspicion of DUI, police observed syringes in the defendants pockets and on the front seat of the vehicle. After further observation, police located heroin inside the vehicle center console.  All narcotics were seized by police.
