Milo Sesti led the Ellwood City boys golf team to victory on Tuesday while the Ellwood City girls volleyball team and the Ellwood City co-ed cross country team were each victorious and both remain unbeaten.
For the boys golf team, the 198-225 victory over Shenango at Delmar Golf Course was led by Sesti’s round of 36. Joining Sesti in the 30’s was Joey Hudson who finished with a round of 39 for the Wolverines. Geoffrey Boker (40), Tyler Baker (40), and Zac Polojac (43) rounded out the scoring for Ellwood City. Tom George fired a team low round of 39 for the visiting Wildcats in defeat. Ellwood City (7-3 overall) will next host Laurel at Delmar Golf Course on Wednesday at 3:15 p.m.
The Ellwood City girls volleyball team remained unbeaten after their 3-0 match victory over Beaver Falls on Tuesday. The Lady Wolverines (7-0 overall) used match victories by the scores of 25-8, 25-10, and 25-10 to earn the victory. The JV team also was victorious and moved to 5-2 on their season. The girls volleyball team will next host a match versus the Laurel Spartans on Thursday, October 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Lincoln High School.
The Ellwood City boys cross country team defeated Shenango, Beaver Falls, South Side, and Union on Tuesday in a meet at South Side on Tuesday. Team results: Ellwood City 23, Shenango 33; Ellwood City 15, Beaver Falls 50; Ellwood City 17, Southside Beaver 50; and Ellwood City 15, Union 50; Top 5 male runners included Nolan Curran (2nd place) 18:41, Marley Schweiger (3rd place) 18:41, Joe Cioffi (5h place) 19:50, Joel Brooks (7th place) 20:45, and Nick Wise (8th place) 20:59. The Ellwood City Boys team is now 8-0 in section 9-0 overall and will next travel to Mohawk on October 6th at 3:30 p.m. for its next meet.
