The Borough of Ellwood City will be hosting a “Drop off” Clean-Up program Saturday, August 29th from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The location of drop-off will be in the parking lot of 1200 Factory Avenue.
The program is made possible by the Recycling Fund. To offset the cost, residents will be charged $8.00 per vehicle load per trip (2 trips max) or have the option (for those age 65 or disabled) to pay $35.00 to have items picked up curbside, but still limited to a vehicle load.
If you plan to drop off any materials Saturday, you must buy a tag from the electric billing office window. Their hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The deadline for purchasing tags will be noon on Friday August 28th.
For curbside pickup, the same applies for purchasing at the electric window. Deadline will be Thursday August 27th at 10:00 a.m.
Excluded items include: Tires, Car Batteries, Broken Concrete, Bricks, Stones, Dirt, Dismantled Automobiles, Containers w/liquid (solvents, paint thinners, oil, gas, kerosene) Paint Cans (unless emptied and dried), Hazardous Materials, Items containing Freon, Electron Waste ( TV, Desktop and Laptop Computers, Monitors, Mouse, Fax machines, Printers, DVR, DVD player, Games Consoles and Phones.
Council approved the clean-up during its August 17 meeting. Valley Waste Service will provide 30-yard dumpsters to collect the waste items.
