Ellwood City Off To Strong Start In Tri-County HS Summer League

Ellwood City is off to a strong start in the 2020 Tri-County High School Summer League.

The team is 5-1 after nearly a month of the season. The league consists of 15 teams from Mercer, Butler, and Lawrence Counties.

Ellwood defeated Hermitage 9-4 on Tuesday rebounding from its lone loss of the season last Thursday. On Tuesday, Zion Bunney (3 IP) and Nathan Scott (5 IP) share pitching duties for the victors.

Ellwood City will next play Grove City on Thursday evening at Grove City Memorial Park and then travel to play Lakeview on Friday evening.

Ellwood City will finally return and host its next home game on Tuesday, July 14 at Sanders Field in Ewing Park after five straight road contests.

The 14-game season ends on July 23rd when Ellwood City will host Slippery Rock. Slippery Rock (8-1 overall) is currently in first place while Ellwood City is in fifth place after its six games.
