POLICE REPORTS: Criminal Complaints

The following are police criminal complaints filed at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Lawrence County office of Honorable Jerry G. Cartwright.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CALL

On Sunday, June 7, at approximately 3:15 p.m, police were responding to a PFA Violation. When police arrived at the Porterville Road residence in Perry Township, they were met with the victim and her child.

The victim recalled to police that her and her ex-boyfriend Steven Ramsey, 34 of Ellwood City, had gotten into a verbal argument about their relationship when, according to the complaint, Ramsey made it physical. The victim related that Ramsey had pushed them multiple times while verbally harassing them about the relationship. It was when the victim went to get back up after being pushed into a lawn chair did Ramsey grab a wrench and slam it down onto a tabletop which caused a small piece to hit their 5-year-old child and leave a mark on their ankle.

It was after the child was injured when Ramsey grabbed the victim at the back of their neck with both of his hands, preventing them from leaving. The victim freed themselves and gathered their and their children’s stuff and get into their vehicle which allowed them to leave and contact police.

When police arrived, they observed the injuries sustained and unsuccessfully tried to contact Ramsey. Ramsey is charged with Endangering Welfare of Children, Simple Assault and Harrassment.

TRAFFIC STOP TURN DRUG BUST

Ellwood Police cleared a traffic stop on Tuesday, May 12 that ended with them leaving with crystal meth.

The incident happened at 9:48 p.m when local Anthony Mueller, 30 of Wampum, was driving down the hill north of Main Street with one headlight. Police stopped the grey Nissan and when asking Mueller for his information he informed police that he did not have them on him but could provide his birthday. After running his credentials, responding officers found that he had a few Beaver County magistrate warrants as well as his license had been suspended, and while speaking to Mueller noticed the smell of marijuana and air freshener. When asked if he had any on him, Mueller responded with “just a roach” as well as he had a medical card. Police ended up finding a black tin in his jacket pocket containing marijuana cigarettes as well as a roach. Upon further searching, police found crystal meth, pipes, as well as 48 pills between two bottles containing morphine pills and serquel.

Mueller was then cleared and released to his sister.

DOMESTIC CALL

On Monday, April 20th, police received a call from a victim saying that she was just assaulted by her boyfriend Adam Pounds, 29 of Ellwood City. Pounds, the victim, and Pounds brother, Joseph, had gotten into a car in Koppel with the victim driving when Pounds began attacking the victim. Joseph Pounds was in the backseat during the incident.

Pounds began striking the driver with a closed fist several times and had tried to wreck her by attempting to grab the stearing wheel as the altercation continued. It was then Joseph Pounds told his brother to stop and he did. Pound’s brother proceeded to demand he was dropped off which the victim did in the Holy Redeemer parking lot, Pounds then grabbed a hammer and demanded the victim leave the car. When she refused, he hit her in the back of the head with it. Even when she left the parking lot with Pounds in the car, he continued to strike her.

The victim then received a call from her sister and, using a lie about coming to pick up money, the pair went to her sister’s home. Once at the Ellwood residence, the victim excited the car, Pounds grabbed her purse and wallet and chased after her. As she got to her sisters from porch, she began to beg for her sister to let her in before Pounds got to her. On the front porch, Pounds began to, again, get physical with the victim. He proceeded to strike and kick her multiple times before Zach Pounds, an acquaintance, convinced him to leave.

He left with the victims purse containing $350 in credit cards and cash. Pounds is being charged with Simple Assault, Harassment, and Theft. Pounds also has a temporary PFA filled against him by the victim.
