Mrs. Marie Vesceri Kennard, 80, of Ellwood City passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver.
Mrs. Kennard was born on August 8, 1939, in Ellwood City to the late Albert and Catherine (Frisk) Vesceri. Marie is a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish and the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers. She also was a long time volunteer at the Holy Redeemer School cafeteria. She is a former employee and union officer at the Ellwood City Knitting Mill and had retired from the Pennsylvania Turnpike in 2000. Marie enjoyed traveling, ceramics, and the companionship of her sweet pet “Dolly”.
She is survived by her daughter, Cora (Sean) Tillia of Ellwood City, her beloved grandchildren, Katherine and Shane Tillia, her stepdaughters, Rita and Karla Kennard, her nieces, Toni Schlemmer (Brendon) Wahlberg, LeeAnn (Tom) Houk, Bobbi (Blake) Hardisky, Madison Hardisky, Hannah Wahlberg, Mary Grace Houk, and Olivia Devorah Tucker, and her nephews, Dustin Hardisky, Timmy and Joey Houk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two siblings in infancy, her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Arthur Schlemmer, her stepdaughter, Arlene Kennard, and her niece, Mary Catherine Schlemmer.
Marie felt blessed to have the love and support of extended family and cherished friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am at the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Mark Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery. Members of the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers are asked to meet at the church on Thursday by 9:50 am to form an honor guard.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Kennard’s name may be made to the Holy Redeemer Angel Fund.
