C Pat McCready Sr., 96, of New Beaver Boro passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the Golden Hill Nursing and Rehab Center following a short illness.
Born April 18, 1923 in New Galilee, he was the son of the late John S. and Sarah J (Reed) McCready . He was married for 68 years to Aline M. (McFarland) McCready who preceded him in death on August 27, 2014. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Doutt and Virginia Bright; one brother, John S. McCready Sr.; and a granddaughter, Suzanne McCready.
Pat was a lifelong dairy farmer. He graduated from Mt. Jackson High School and was a member of the Hoover Heights Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Pat enjoyed restoring antique tractors.
Survivors include six children, Joyce (Dave) Foster, C. Pat (Vivian) McCready Jr, Ben (Sara) McCready, Don (Sandy) McCready, Rosalie (Larry) Eckman, and Ruth (Bob) Anderson; his elder sister, E. Marie Langlotz who is 99 years old ; 23 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum. Funeral service will be held at the First Alliance Church, 111 Mission Meade Dr. New Castle on Friday at 11 am. Rev. Larry Llewellyn and his grandson, Rev. John McCready will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery in New Galilee.
