Robert Charles “Bobby” Smiley, 83, of Frisco, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 6, 2019.
Born in New Castle, PA on July 21, 1936, Bob was the son of the late Robert and Nettie Hoover Smith. He married the former Kathleen Boyd on March 25, 1961 and they have enjoyed 68 years together. Bob retired from Superior Drawn Steel in Monaca and then drove truck for M.E.I. A US Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War, Bob was a member of Lillyville Church of God. When Bob’s three sons were young, he coached baseball. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and bee keeping. He also enjoyed playing pool, however, his greatest joys were his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife, Kathleen, three sons and daughters-in-law; Robert Dean (Alana) Smiley of Fombell, Timothy Allen (Lisa) Smiley of Franklin Township and Daniel Charles (Lisa) Smiley of North Sewickley Twp., two sisters, Ruthann Carr of New Castle and Sally Lou Byler of Ellwood City, 7 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, October 8th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 4:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Arndt of Lillyville Church of God.
