Mrs. Julia G. Blatch, 97, formerly of Ellport passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at the Avalon Nursing Center in New Castle.
Mrs. Blatch was born on March 18, 1922 in Ellport to the late Alexander and Mary (Takacs) Pazsint. She had worked the US Steel Mill in Ellwood City during World War II, the Ellwood City Knitting Mill, and as a waitress at various places in the Ellwood area. Julia is a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish, and the Hungarian Home. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid bingo player.
She is survived by her daughters, Norma Beck of New Bedford and Barbara (Paul) Kozma of Fombell, her grandchildren, Charleen (David) Menzietti, and Jamie (Nicholas) Riehl, and her great-grandchildren, Julia Elizabeth Riehl, Clara Charleen Riehl, and Jonathan Charles Menzietti.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Norman C. Blatch whom she married on January 31, 1944 and passed away on September 9, 1999, her sisters, Kathryn Rockyvich, Margaret Mason, Mary Ingham, Helen Davis, Emma Simon, Sarah Bodnar, and Erma Kinchius, her brothers, Sgt. John Pazsint and Alexander Pazsint, and her son-in-law, Charles Beck.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-6 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Mark Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
