T-shirts are available at Ellwood City, Riverside, Beaver Falls, and Shenango schools and the non-profit Club Hope Foundation for a challenge to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
“The Pink Out Challenge this year is between Ellwood City, Riverside, Shenango and Beaver Falls,” said Cara Atkinson, found of Club Hope Foundation.
Each school is selling ‘Pink Out Shirts’ that have been designed and printed by Ellwood City-based, Venezie Sporting Goods & Apparel.
Ellwood City and Beaver Falls will have the sales from these shirts helping Club Hope in their building and all other funds will be donated to the Club Hope Foundation to help us continue spreading HOPE to families and patients faced with a cancer diagnosis.
Those who purchase shirts are encouraged to wear them on Friday’s during the month of October and to the football games.
“We will be doing a Football Toss Challenge again this year at the Ellwood City/Shenango game at Helling Stadium on October 4th where Ellwood City teacher Gary Rozanski will toss against his former softball player and current Shenango teacher Kaitlyn Schuster during halftime,” said Atkinson.
Shirts can be purchased through the schools or by contacting Cara with the Club Hope Foundation at 724-657-7672 or by emailing clubhopefoundation@gmail.com. If ordering through the foundation, Atkinson ask that you choose the school you would like to support as the competition is getting intense this year to see who can raise the most funds!
“We have not set a goal for how much we would like to raise, but we are so excited to add Beaver Falls to this challenge this year so that we can spread more HOPE to those learning about our cause in this area,” said Atkinson. “We would love to keep adding districts into this challenge each year!”
The Club Hope Foundation offers help and support to those who are cancer patients or family members of those affected by cancer.
Additionally, Club Hope Foundation is hosting an upcoming ‘Concert of HOPE’ which will be held next weekend at the Lincoln High School auditorium beginning at 7:00pm. Information about it can be found on their Facebook page.
