The Jack Ferrante Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament will be at Del Mar Golf Course on Sunday, August 11. The tournament is named after Jack Ferrante, who had been the first Groundskeeper/Pro at the Del Mar Golf Course.
“He played an important role in the development of the course in the early 1960s,” said event organizer, Joe Cioffi, in a statement.
The tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. using the following format: two men/women/senior teams, 18 holes, and one best ball with Handicap (80%). Participants must have an established handicap, and handicaps will be formatted on August 9 and used for the event. Pairing and starting holes will be assigned by the Pro-shop.
Pricing as followed; a member with a cart will be $30, a member without a cart will be $45, and a non-member participant will be $60.
The payout is currently calculated for 20 teams, the money will increase or decrease based on the final number of teams; 1st $350, 2nd $250, 3rd $150, and 4th $70.
Business sponsorships are still available, will be until August 4th. The cost is $50, please make your check out to Del Mar Golf Course and mail it to Joe Cioffi at 415 Wood Street, Ellwood City.
