United Fund Releases First Allocation of 2019 Campaign Funds

Connie MacDonald, president of the Ellwood City United Fund, announced Friday the United Fund would issue its first allocation of collected funds for 2019.

MacDonald stated, “ the service agencies will receive reduced allotments due to the fact, we were unable to meet our annual goal set for the campaign of 2019. Each agency will receive about 30% less then in previous years. The board decided not to use its emergency fund that is reserved for disaster relief. We encourage the Ellwood City community to please help us to overcome the deficit by making a donation now – any amount will help.”

The Ellwood City United Fund has campaigned for funds for over 50 years to help the nonprofit service agencies that serve the needs of our community: The City Rescue Mission, People-in-need, Ellwood City Public Library, Human Service Center, Ellwood City Family Center, Lark Enterprises, Ellwood Education Foundation, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts.

Andrew Kindle, the Treasurer, states, “if you havenʼt given and you can, please do. There are many who depend upon all of us to do what we can, with what we have, where we are at. Please give and thank you for caring.”

All donations to the United Fund are tax-deductible.
