Dena P. Ottobre, 95

Dena Perazzoni Ottobre, 95 of Ellwood City passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at the UPMC Passavant Hospital.

Born in Ellwood City on May 19, 1923, Dena was the daughter of the late Nick and Virginia Filoia Perazzoni.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Ottobre on January 17, 2015.  They were married on June 19, 1948.  She graduated from Lincoln High School, class of 1941.  She had worked at G.C. Murphy and US Steel, Ellwood Works, where she worked as a time keeper during World War II.  She is a member of Holy Redeemer Parish and its Christian Mothers.  Dena’s greatest pleasure was baking and cooking for her family and babysitting her grandchildren.

Dena is survived by a son and three daughters, Virginia (John) Ottaviani of Ellwood City, Warren (Brenda) Ottobre of Westerville, OH, Anita M. (Jay Gettens) Ottobre of Prospect, PA and Deanna (Steve) Pierog of Akron, OH, a sister, Ann Folino of Ellwood City, a brother-in-law, Paul Plavecsky of Ellwood City, eight grandchildren, Heather (Gerald) Hoffman of Lewis Center, OH, Darin Ottaviani of South Bend, IN, Ryan Ottobre of Los Angeles, CA, Aaron Ninos of Ellwood City, Jared (Jenny) Ninos of Coraopolis, Cameron Ninos of Middleton WI, Dena Pierog of Columbus, OH and Derek Pierog of Worthington, OH, three great grandchildren, Carter Hoffman, Avery Hoffman and Marlana Ninos and her caregiver, Josie Powell.

In additional to her parents and husband, Dena was preceded in death by her two sisters, Martha Mancini and Leda Cirelli.

Friends may call at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport on Friday, May 3, 2019 from 4 PM to 8 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Redeemer Church on Saturday at 10 AM with Fr. Mark L. Thomas.  Entombment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Her family would like to extend their gratitude to Rick Myer and the Ellwood City Fire Dept. and Noga Ambulance Service as well as the ER staff at UPMC Passavant Hospital.

Memorial contributions can be made in Dena’s name to the Angel Fund or Social Services of Holy Redeemer Parish.
