The Ellwood City wrestling team was one of 14 teams that competed in the South Side Beaver Duals Tournament this past Saturday.
The team had some individual success but were hampered by no contest forfeits as a team leaving the team winless in the tournament.
The Wolverines fell to Cambridge Springs (58-9), Blackhawk (36-24), Lakeview (23-21), Penn Cambria (60-21), and West Greene (34-22).
Jake Alberts had a very strong showing, collecting victories in all five of his individual matches in the tournament.

- 120 – Jake Alberts maj. dec. Levi Corbly, 17-4 (6-4)
Donavin Chambers (138 pounds) collected victories in four of his five individual matches while Austin Walley (182 pounds) collected victories in all five of his matches, including a forfeit and a injury default decision.
Cambridge Springs was the lone undefeated team in the tournament, finishing a perfect 5-0 while Butler piled up a tournament record of 4-1.
Ellwood City (1-8 overall, 1-3 league) next has a scheduled match versus Laurel on Wednesday, January 16, 2019.
