Corona D’italia December Meeting, Lodge Disbanding

Officers and members of Corona D’italia #807 held their Christmas Dinner on Wednesday, December 5, at the Wolverine Restaurant.

Chairman, Acting President, Valerie Valentino and Co-chairman, Lois DiFrischia, greeted the arrivals. Valentino checked reservations and gave door prize tickets, DiFrischia directed seating and presented each person with a 2019 journal and a Santa soap dispenser, provided by Valentino. Tables held miniature Christmas trees and boxes of assorted candies with Christmas settings.

The Emcee, Mary Quintanea, provided recorded Christmas music and also photographed in attendance. She extended Holiday wishes to and Valentino expressed her wishes for a Merry Christmas and an enjoyable dinner. They called on Trustee, Patty Regna, who presented a very prayerful invocation honoring past and present members, military personnel and families. The sit-down Italian platter dinner was served by the staff. Dessert of Italian pastries, provided by President, Clemmy Sirimarco, was enjoyed while participated in singing Christmas songs. Valentino, DiFrischia and Quintane conducted a social that followed.

A 50-50 raffle was won by Mary Jane Folino. The winners of the Christmas games, Pudue LaCava, Folino, Di Frischia and Regna were awarded prizes provided by Valentino. Door prize winners, DiFrischia and Margaret Cancelli, received boxed candy from Valentino. Sirimarco was honored by Valentino with a monetary gift from the officers and members. She replied with her appreciation for the kindness, support and generosity afforded her and extended her Christmas wishes to all.

Valentino announced that this was the last business meeting of the lodge as it has been unanimously decided to disband.

The Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania has been notified that due to declining membership, deaths, illness, relocation and work issues the lodge is no longer viable.

All members will be notified by mail on further information. The Corona D’italia Lodge Scholarship will close with the awarding of two $500 Scholarships to 2019 eligible graduating seniors who are members, or a child or grandchild of living, active members of Corona D’italia Lodge #807 or Sons of Italy #608,

Donations have been closed as of December 05, 2018. Awards will be presented at the Mother-Daughter-scholarship dinner in May, 2019.
