Wampum, PA – On Thursday evening, November 29th, hundreds of local folks enjoyed a full fireworks display preceded by Wampum’s “Light Up the Town” where homemade luminaries lined main Street and Wampum’s old-fashioned decorations were lighted for the season.
Refreshments were served along with pockets of entertainment including cloggers, wood carving demonstrations and Carolers were found throughout Main Street. And horse-drawn carriage rides were available all evening.
Saturday, December 1st, horses return to Main Street as part of Wampum Area’s Christmas Parade. This hour-long tradition kicks off at 1 pm with candy-filled pinatas for the spectators and the fire whistle and confetti bombs mark the start.
Attendees will see familiar favorites including homemade floats, marching bands, dancers, horses, dogs, costumed characters and local dignitaries.
This year several new additions including Band Together Pittsburgh, an organization that uses the power of music to engage people on the Autism Spectrum throughout Western, PA.
