Mr. Joseph Anthony Ferrigno, 71 of Perry Twp. passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Ferrigno was born on October 16, 1947 in New Brighton to the late Joseph E. and Hilda M. (Bertagna) Ferrigno.
He had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1965. Joe served with the Pennsylvania Nation Guard out of New Brighton for six years.
Following high school , Joe worked at the Babcock & Wilcox Steel Mill as an inspector until the mill closed. He then worked as a sales manager for Kephart Trucking in Bigler, Pa for over 20 years along with various other trucking companies during his career.
He ended his career at Beck Trucking Co. in Valencia, Pa where he worked as a dispatcher.
Following retirement, Joe enjoyed helping his oldest son, Joe, with his business, J&S Motor Cars, in Negley, Ohio.
In his free time he enjoyed reading, music, watching the Pittsburgh Pirates during the 2018 season, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and loving wife of 50 years, Jo Anne (Casuccio) Ferrigno whom he married on January 6, 1968, his sons, Joseph (Mary) Ferrigno Jr. of Beaver Falls and Tony (Beth) Ferrigno of Darlington, his grandchildren, Stephanie Ferrigno of Beaver Falls and Aiden Ferrigno of Darlington, his rescue dog, Coco Beanz Ferrigno, his sisters, Bert (Bob) Kelly of Wayne Twp. and Linda (Art) Smilek of Ellwood City, his sister-in-law, Toni Moser of Ellwood City, and his many nieces and nephews from all over the U.S..
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law, Anthony and Margaret Casuccio, and his sister-in-law, Stephanie “Stevie” Beachem.
We choose to remember and celebrate the life and not the death of Joe. With respect for these wishes, the family will not hold a memorial service but will honor him in this way.
