Michael N. Nuzzo, 92 of Chewton passed away at his residence on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 12:10 am.
Born in Sunnyside (Allegheny Co.) on August 7, 1926 Michael was the son of the late Antonio (Tony) and Catherine Quinden Nuzzo. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Concetta (Connie) DeRosa on May 9, 2011. They were married on October 31, 1948. Michael worked as a fitter at Matthews Conveyor in Ellwood until they closed. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Ellwood City and the Ellwood-Wampum Rod and Gun Club. Michael was a veteran of the US Army serving in World War II. He was also an avid gardener and enjoyed carpentry.
Michael is survived by his 5 daughters, Kathy and Paul Stehnach of Canfield, OH, Carolyn and Don Mutter of Saltville, VA, Maria Nuzzo of Ellwood City, Toni Shar of Pittsburgh and Patsy Nuzzo of Silver Springs, MD, 3 grandsons, Matthew, Stephen and Philip Mutter and a great grandson, Liam Wallace Mutter, a sister, Connie Nuzzo of Monongahela, PA and a brother, Fred Nuzzo of Ellwood City.
Besides his parents and wife, Michael was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Anzalone and 2 brothers, Patsy and Sonny Nuzzo.
Private graveside services will be offered at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on Monday, October 1, 2018.
Family suggests memorial contributions can be made in Michael’s name to Vitas Hospice Continuous Care, 2009 Mackenzie Way, Suite 110, Cranberry Twp., PA 16066.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory.
