William Boy, 90, of Ellport, passed away at Providence Care Center in Beaver Falls on Monday, September 3, 2018.
Born in Ellwood City on January 27, 1928, William was the son of the late John and Susan Chifo Boy. William is survived by his wife, the former Amy Contos whom he married on July 27, 1952. William was a mechanical engineer and had worked at Matthews until they closed their plant in Ellwood City and retired from Pennsylvania Engineering. William was an active member of Christ Presbyterian Church where he as a former Deacon and sang in the choir. He was a veteran of the Army serving in the Korean War. William was a talented musician playing bass in several bands but mostly in North of Nashville and in 1979, the band cut an album. He was also a master wood cutter, his projects included everything from carousel horses to ornate woodwork in older homes. William was a 1946 graduate of Lincoln High School.
William is survived by his wife, Amy Boy, a son and daughter, William A. (Sheila) Boy of Ellport and Sue Ellen Stoyanoff of Perry Twp., 5 grandchildren, Kandis Boy, Sheila Dulaney, William Boy II, Allison Velasquez and Caitlyn Stoyanoff and 6 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by 6 brothers, Pete, Paul, George, Joe, Dan and John Boy, 3 sisters, Sue Boy, Mary Boy and Goldie Molnar and a son-in-law, Ralph Stoyanoff.
Family visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport where funeral services will be held at 1 PM with his Pastor R. Tod Custer.
Private interment will be held at Locust Grove Cemetery.
Full military rites will be conducted by the Veteran’s Honor Guard.
Family suggests memorial contributions can be made in William’s name to Christ Presbyterian Church, 325 Spring Avenue, Ellwood City, PA 16117.
