Richard G. Loccisano, 84, of Ellwood City, passed away in the ER of the Ellwood City Medical Center on Saturday July 28, 2018.
Born in Ellwood City on May 5, 1934, Richard was the son of the late Nicholas and Bettina Giancotti Loccisano. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, the former Virginia “Ginger” Catroppa on April 13, 2016. They were married on April 25, 1954. Working in the family business started by his mother in 1916, Richard owned and operated Loccisano Brother’s Grocery Store for over 60 years. He was still active in the store operation. Richard was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish where he was a member of the Special Activity Group. Richard loved his wife and family, he also had a passion for football and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Richard was a member of the Ellwood SOI Lodge.
Richard is survived by his 4 children, Daniel M. (Stephanie) Loccisano of Ellwood City, Elizabeth A. Lordi of Williamsport, PA, Douglas E. Loccisano of Ft. Myers, FL and Cara Loccisano of Butler, a brother, Arthur Loccisano of Scottsdale, AZ, 8 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife, Richard was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Parks, 6 brothers, John, Carl, Raymond, Robert, Dominic and James Loccisano and a son-in-law, David Lordi.
Friends will be received on Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 3rd at 10:00 AM at Holy Redeemer Church with Fr. Mark Thomas. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
