June 7, 6:30 – Marauders 0 vs Alchemists 7

In his Stiefel Park Hockey debut, Antonio Huber posted  his first career shutout for the Alchemists in their 7-0 victory against the Marauders. Huber stopped 11 of 11 shots he faced in the contest. Eric Rusnock of the Alchemists started the scoring early in the first period and also contributed another goal later in the game. Travis Strobel, Zach Faller, Lance Sobel and Luke Angelucci also contributed goals to take the Alchemists to a 1-0 lead in their division Thursday evening.

June 7, 7:30 – Your Goose is Cooked 10 vs Grand Daddy Purps 2

A name fitting for the team, when you play the Goose, a team based in wampum, your goose is indeed cooked. The goose made a strong statement in their defeat of the Purps Thursday evening at Stiefel Park. The Goose the undefeated champs of last season, started slow going down 1-0 against the Purps when Tyler Kale scored off an assist from Brian Pruitt 2 minutes into the game.  Goose captain Nate Puntureri evened the score 90 seconds later of a feed from Sam Hervatine. By games end NP would tally for 2 more goals and add 3 assists. Mike Puntureri also scored a hat trick adding an assist. Mark Seminara and Mike Deleone contributed points for the Goose victory. For the Purps, Andrew Hiser scored a goal late in the third period. Despite the loss, Jimmy Ford stood out for the Purps stopping 35 or 45 shots on the night.

June 7, 8:30 – Craig’s Hardware 5  vs Home Improvement Contracting 6 Shootout Win

The final game of the evening proved to be the most intense, Craig’s Hardware and Home Improvement contracting battled to a tie score and the end of regulation. Ian Carney and Hunter Walters shined for HIC scoring two goals a piece, while Issac Knight tallied for a goal. For Craig’s D.Whalen, T.Whalen, Z. Whalen, D. Macuga and M.s Stuber all contributed to lead the Hardware store to a tie in regulation.  Z. and D Whalen both contributed 2 assists as well. It wasn’t until the 4th round of the shootout that HIC claimed their victory.
