Dear Friends of the Arts:
We are pleased to announce the upcoming Juried Art Show as part of the 2018 Ellwood City Arts, Crafts, Food and Entertainment Festival. This year’s show will be hosted by the Ellwood City Festival Chairperson, Cathy Jones. The Festival will be held June 29, 30 and July 1. Accepted artwork will be on display at the Trefoil Lodge in Ewing Park during the three-day event that attracts over 20,000 visitors each year. This is a great opportunity for you to display your talent in art for many to view.
The judge for this year’s show is Anthony Valvano, art handler for the Andy Warhol Museum. Judging will be held June 25. Artists cannot be present during judging.
There are three categories for pieces to be entered in: 2D works (drawings and paintings), 3D works (sculpture and ceramics) and photography. Cash awards and Ribbons will be given for the Best of Show, one Distinguished Award in each category, (total of 3) and one Merit Award in each category (total of 3). This is for ages 16 and up.
There are two separate categories one for under the age of 10 and one from the ages of 11 to 15. One ribbon will be given in each of these categories. Please see special guidelines for these categories. The show will also accept entries, except photography, using a JPEG format. There is a special entry form for this, if you wish to submit your work this way please see the festival website, http://www.ellwood-city-festival.net/. All entry forms are posted on the website.
As in the past years, appropriate care will be taken in handling your artwork. However, the Festival committee cannot be responsible for any accidental damage that may occur. Security officers will be on duty throughout the Festival period and a show attendant will be on hand during the show hours.
