Ellwood City Public Library Activities for Week of May 21

 

Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:

Monday, May 21, at 1:30 p.m. – Afternoon Book Discussion Group for Adults. The group will discuss the book, “The Dry,” by Jane Harper. New members are welcome, so call the library at 724-758-6458 for more information.

Wednesday, May 23, at 10-:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” is a program designed to help reduce the stresses of everyday life. Everyone is welcome, so call the library for more information.

Wednesday, May 23, at 1:00 p.m. — “Building Buddies,” a new program of fun and learning for toddlers and preschoolers. This interactive program allows kids to explore building and socialization skills. No registration is required, so call the library for more information.

Wednesday, May 23, at 6:00 p.m. – “Movie Night for Adults.” This monthly program features new-to-DVD films and refreshments. All area adults are welcome to attend this free program. Call the library for more information or to discover the title of the film to be shown.

Thursday, May 24, at 6:00 p.m. — Adult Knitting Group whose members meet weekly to work on individual projects. New members are welcome, so call the library for more information.

The library will be closed on Monday, May 28, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, May 29.

The library’s Summer Reading Program will begin the first week in June and registration is now available for the wide variety of activities planned. There are programs for babies, toddlers and preschools, as well as programs for elementary-aged students, junior high and high school students. Call the library for more information and for a schedule of events.

The library is now accepting book donations for the Annual Book Sale which is scheduled for October 1-6. Books of all types in good condition may be dropped off at the library during regular business hours. The library will NOT accept textbooks of any type, no magazines, no Readers’ Digest Condensed Books, no encyclopedias and no VHS tapes. Call the library for more information.
