Mrs. Christine G. Casciato, 93 of Ellwood City passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 at the Avalon Nursing Center.
Mrs. Casciato was born on July 19, 1924 in Ellwood City to the late Bernado and Damiana (Losacco) Sera. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1942. Christine worked at Silver Blatts as a sales clerk, and later at Lincoln High School as a cafeteria worker. She is a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish and the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers. She cherished time spent with her family.
Mrs. Casciato is survived by her daughter, Cindy Molfetto of Ellwood City, her son, Ed (Debbie) Casciato of Ellwood City, her grandchildren, Ed F. (Marissa) Casciato, and Kylie Boone, and her great-grandchildren, Rhiannon Boone and EJ Casciato. She is also survived by her sister, Mary McClurg of Ellwood City, her brother, Michael Sera of Michigan, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Felix E. Casciato whom she married on January 20, 1949 and passed away on June 14, 1968, her grandson, Jared Boone, and her sister, Anne Rubino.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-7 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc and Cremation Services.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Mark Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Members of the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers are asked to meet at the church on Monday by 9:50 am to form an honor guard.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Casciato’s name may be made to the Holy Redeemer Angel Fund.
