Linda L. Raman, 78

Mrs. Linda L. Raman, 78, a lifelong resident of Ellwood City passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Ellwood City Medical Center. Although in ill health for over 22 years, death was unexpected.

Linda was born on January 23, 1940 to John and Ruth (Krah) Smeltz. Her grandparents where William and Beulah Osborne Krah all preceding her in death.
She’s lovingly survived by her husband, Joe. They were high school sweethearts. They married on September 23, 1961 at St. Agatha Church by Father James Bryne.

Also surviving are three children, Richard and Linda (Cucunato) Raman of California, John W. Raman a resident of Sugar Creek Rest in Worthington, Pa, and Cynthia Raman Minto and her partner “Giggs” Huddy of Big Beaver Boro, and proudly survived by her three grandchildren, Daniel Raman, Logan Nicole Minto, and Gabriella Juliet Minto. Also surviving are her sisters-in-law and their husbands, Janet “Jenny” (Ron) Betteridge of Rochester, NY, Virginia (Melvin) Straley of Big Beaver Boro. Linda also leaves behind a very dear and loving friend Grace Snyder.

Mrs. Raman was a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish. She was a 1953 graduate of the former Purification BVM grade school, a 1957 graduate of Lincoln High School, and a 1960 graduate of New Castle Hospital, renamed St. Francis Hospital, with a 3 year R.N. Diploma. Her nursing career, of 34 years, at St. Francis Hospital, Dr. J.C. Painters office, Ellwood City Hospital, and Dr. Rajascnan’s office. She relished the many friendships she made with both families and patients.
Linda was a former member of the St. Agatha Christian Mothers, St. Francis School of Nursing Alumni, and currently the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers and the Ellwood City Hospital Auxiliary.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-7 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Mark Thomas officiating. Entombment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery, St. Peters Mausoleum. Members of the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers are asked to meet at the church by 9:50 am to form an honor guard.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Raman’s name be made to the Holy Redeemer Angel Fund.
