Ellwood City Public Library Activities for the Week of April 2

Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:

Tuesday, April 3, at 10:00 a.m.Family Laptime, a weekly program designed for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. The spring session, which will be held every Tuesday through April 24, features stories, songs, games and more. Registration is requested, so call the library at 724-758-6458 for more information.

Wednesday, April 4, at 10:00 a.m.“Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” is a program designed to help reduce the stresses of everyday life. Everyone is welcome, so call the library for more information.

Wednesday, April 4, at 3:00 p.m.Creative Writing Workshop for students in 7th grade and up. The group meets twice each month to share their work and to discuss writing tips and techniques. Call the library for more information.

Wednesday, April 4, at 6:30 p.m.Evening Book Discussion Group for Adults. The group will discuss the book, “Bird in Hand,” by Christina Baker Kline. New member are welcome. Call the library for more information.

Thursday, April 5, at 10:00 a.m.Preschool Story Time for preschoolers ages 3 years old and up. The weekly spring session, which will be held every Tuesday through April 26, features stories, songs, games and more. Registration is requested, so call the library for more information and to register.

Thursday, April 5, at 3:00 p.m.“Hooked on Books,” a book discussion group for students in 6th through 8th grades. The group meets twice each month for book discussion and pizza. New members are welcome, so call the library for more information.

Thursday, April 5, at 6:00 p.m.Adult Knitting Group whose members meet weekly to work on individual projects. New members are welcome, so call the library for more information.

Saturday, April 7, at 10:00 a.m.“Silly Science and Lego Day,” a program designed for students in kindergarten through 6th grade. This monthly activity features science experiments conducted in a fun and silly way, as well as Lego construction. No registration is required, so call the library for more information.

Saturday, April 7, at 12:00 NoonTwenty-Something Book Discussion Group, designed for college-aged students and folks in their twenties. The group meets the first Saturday of every month for book discussion and pizza. Call the library for more information.

The library will be hosting a fun “Paint Night” fundraiser from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 27, at the library Those attending will create a 16 x 20 inch canvass painting and enjoy complimentary wine, cheese and other refreshments. The cost is $35 and space is limited, so call the library now for more information.
