After a life of quiet faith and dignity, Shirley Louise McElwain Brown passed away peacefully on March 8, 2018 at home with family at her side.
Born January 12, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mabel Reeher McElwain. A graduate of the American School, Shirley worked at Providence Hospital in Beaver Falls and the Ellwood City Hospital as a Surgical Tech for may years.
Preceding her in death was her beloved husband, James L. Brown who she married on September 30, 1947; her devoted daughter, Pastor Cynthia Antinossi, and her brother, Paul McElwain. She is survived by her son, Thomas (Susan) Brown, son-in-law John Antinossi, grandchildren Beth (Donnie) Panizales, Jason Brown, Matthew (Laura) Antinossi and Jennifer Brown, great grandchildren Alexia, Joshua, and Samuel Panizales, Emma and Jack Brown, and Ethan, Abby, and Luke Antinossi, her sisters Evelyn Mack, Beverly (Rod) Barber, and her sister-in-law, Margaret McElwain.
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend but our sadness is tempered by the knowledge that she is united with her loved ones and will one day welcome all of us home.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-6 pm and on Monday from 11:00 am until the time of the service at Noon at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services with Rev. Matthew Bupp officiating. Interment will be at the Locust Grove Cemetery
