Mrs. Geraldine L. Barile, 86, of Ellwood City passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Avalon Nursing Center.
Mrs. Barile was born on July 26, 1931 in Ellwood City to the late Robert and Irene Cearfoss Curtis. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1949. Geraldine is a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish and the Christian Mothers of the Holy Redeemer parish. For 16 years she volunteered at the Holy Redeemer School cafeteria, and was a long time volunteer for the Holy Redeemer Annual Bazaar.
Mrs. Barile is survived by her sons, Francis W. Barile, Jr. and James V. Barile both of Ellwood City, her grandchildren, Jessica (BJ) Patterson, Jamie Barile, Jay (Lee Ann) Carothers, and Jill (Kevin) Morrell, and her three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Francis W. “Bucky” Barile, Sr. in 1993, her daughter, Christine Barile Ferruchie, her step-daughter, Rebecca Barile Carothers, her granddaughter, Kristen Barile, her sister, Elaine Householder, and her brother, Harold Curtis.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am at the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Zachary Galiyas officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Members of the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers are asked to meet at the church on Thursday by 9:50 am to form an honor guard.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Barile’s name may be made to the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers.
