A few days ago, I was sitting in the waiting room at a doctor’s office in Cranberry Township, where I saw a magazine that had articles about the Christmas season, giving in kindness and love, and trying to reach out to others with gifts that keep on giving.
Every year the Ellwood City United Fund asks for the community’s generous support so we can continue to help our friends, neighbors and family members need.
We know that it is at this time of year you are inundated with requests for donations.
The magazine writers talked about giving of yourself and sacrificing for others. An amazing thing happens when you take the focus off of yourself and start helping others.
Think about the things you can do to help somebody else. You will become enriched in ways that you might not have considered.
Holiday traditions are taught and passed down to our children, and if they learn at an early age how to reach out to others who are less fortunate, they will realize their blessings. We should all have compassion and understanding for those in need.
The Ellwood City United Fund is a year-round organization that helps to provide funds to the agencies and individuals who are in need. Your donation, whether large or small will directly benefit those in our community.
More than ever, we need your support this year. The Ellwood City
United Fund will extend its fund raising campaign deadline until January 31, (2018).
If you haven’t given and you can, please do. There are many who depend upon us and other charities for help. Start the new year as you ended the old, with kindness and generosity.
Donations can be sent to Ellwood City United Fund, Post Office Box 174, Ellwood City, Pa 16117. Thank you for caring!
