Mrs. Isabelle “Izzie” N. Catarcio, 98, of Ellwood City passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017 in the Carriage Manor Personnel Care Home.
Mrs. Catarcio was born on November 17, 1918 in Beaver Falls to the late Louis and Theresa Chiapetta Muoio. She had attended the Beaver Falls High School. Isabelle worked at Dust Proof Manufacturing in Ellwood City as a seamstress for 20 years. She is a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish and the Christian Mothers of the Holy Redeemer Parish. She also belonged to the Golden Agers, and was a long time volunteer at the Holy Redeemer School Cafeteria and Annual Bazaar. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, playing cards, and most of all being with her family. Izzie was best known for her kindness, humor, and unending love.
She is survived by her daughters, Louise “Bootsie” Columbus (Andy) Mine of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Debra “Debi” (Walter) Wiech of Ellwood City, her grandchildren, Mark (Carrie) Columbus, Mistie Columbus, Erin (Jim “Scrudge”) Wiech Miller, and Chad (Brianna) Wiech, and her great-grandchildren, Eisabela Miller, Szofia Miller, Jhenavesza Miller, D’Shon Stevenson, Caiden Wiech, and Ayva Wiech.
The last of her family, she was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Nicholas D. Catarcio whom she married on November 28, 1940 and passed away on December 29, 1991, her sisters, Agnes Morelli, Mary Policaro, Elizabeth Beatrice, Rose Muoio, and Ann Fubio, and her brothers, Domenic, James, and Adolph Muoio.
Izzie’s family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of the Mother Teresa Hospice and the Carriage Manor Personnel Care Home for their incomparable care and love.
Family and friends will be greeted at the Holy Redeemer Church (Park Ave. at 4th St., Ellwood City, Pa 16117) on Monday, June 19, 2017 from 10:00 am until the time of the mass of Christian burial at 10:30 am . Members of the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers are asked to meet at the church on Monday by 10:20 am to form an honor guard. Entombment will be at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Assumption Mausoleum. The funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services.
