William C. Pearsall, Sr., 80

William C. Pearsall, Sr., 80, of Woodside Avenue, Wayne Township, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Grove in New Wilmington.  Born on September 29, 1936 in New Castle, Bill was the son of the late Earl and Martha Thomas Pearsall.  At age 15, Bill left school and started his own business, working out of his parents’ garage on Croton Avenue.  Bill married the former Mildred Gallaher on February 24, 1956 and she preceded him in death on October 22, 2004.  “Cadillac Bill”, as he was known, owned and operated Pearsall’s Auto Body and the Auto Village in Ellwood City from 1957 until he retired in 2002.  His Clydesdales were a fixture on Woodside Avenue for years and over 100 couples included them in their weddings.  Bill was a member of the Ellwood Masonic Lodge for 35 years and was a past vice president of the Lawrence County Caravan of the Syria Shrine.  He was also a member of the New Castle Scottish Rite.  Bill was Episcopal by faith.

Bill is survived by his children, Dr. Marcy L. Pearsall and William C. Pearsall, Jr., both of Ellwood City, a grandson, Daniel William Pearsall and his yellow lab and best buddy, Gunner.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Pearsall and three sisters; Catherine Kehm, Jane Royal and GemAnn Grimes.

Services for Bill were private.  Interment took place in Wurtemburg Cemetery.  Arrangements were entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.

Memorial contributions can be made in Bill’s name to Promises for Pets, 439 Court St., New Castle, PA  16101.  Bill always said, “It’s so nice to be nice”.  So please, be nice to someone today.
