Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:
Wednesday, May 24, at 10:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” is a new concept in helping to reduce the stresses of everyday life. Everyone is welcome, so call the library at 724-758-6458 for more information.
Wednesday, May 24, at 6:00 p.m. – “Movie Night for Adults.” These monthly movie nights are free and open to all area adults. Featured are new-to-DVD-films and refreshments. The schedule has changed for May and June, so call the library to discover the title of the film to be shown.
Thursday, May 25, at 3:00 p.m. – “Food 4 Thought,” a book discussion group for students in 9th grade and up. The group will discuss the book, “The Obsidian,” by Jennifer Armentrout. Call the library for more information.
Thursday, May 25, at 6:00 p.m. — Adult Knitting Group. The group meets each week to work on individual projects. Call the library for more information.
The library will be closed on Monday, May 29, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, May 30.
Plans for the library’s Summer Reading Program are in place and feature a variety of activities for toddlers, preschoolers, elementary-aged children and teens. Among the events featured will be the Puppet Theater Workshop , “Build a Better World” weekly program for kids in kindergarten through 3rd grade, “Jump Start to Kindergarten” for children entering kindergarten in the fall, Family Laptime, “Silly Saturdays: Science Experiments and Legos,” and much more.
Also offered are book discussion groups: “The Book Bunch” for children who have just completed 3rd grade, and “Bookworms” for students who have just completed 4th and 5th grades. Registration is required, so call the library now for more information.
