Mr. Robert Clark Nesbit, 72, of Ellwood City passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 in the Butler VA Medical Center from health issues that occurred due to his exposure to agent orange during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Nesbit was born on May 6, 1944 in New Castle to the late Clark James and Margaret Bell Shaffer Nesbit. Bob graduated from Shenango High School and Florida Technical College. He proudly served two tours of duty with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He had served with the Army from April 9, 1965 until his discharge on January 28, 1968 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with a Bronze Service Star, and the Vietnam Medal with Device. He later followed his fathers footsteps working as a brick mason in Florida and Colorado. He enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, and feeding the deer that visited his back yard.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Loriann Macgregor of College Station, TX, 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, his brother, Richard (Patricia) Nesbit of Georgetown, TX, and several nieces and nephews. His daughter remembers him as a loving father with a fantastic sense of humor. His favorite pastime was doing the New York Times crossword puzzle, which he always finished correctly. She will miss having those conversations on the phone where they chatted about many things. The family will miss him greatly, and we were honored to know such a man.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4pm and on Monday from 11am until Noon in the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services. A Service for Bob will be held on Monday at Noon in the funeral home with Pastor Jeff McKay officiating. Interment will be at the Greenwood Methodist Cemetery in Shenango Twp.. Members of the Veterans Honor Guard are asked to meet at the funeral home on Monday by 11:50am to conduct full military honors.
