Wilbert C. “Web” Kennedy, Jr., 44, of Franklin Avenue, Ellwood City, passed away unexpectedly as a result of a motor vehicle accident on Sunday, February 19, 2017.
Born in Ellwood City on January 11, 1973, Web is the son of Wilbert “Web” (Kathy) Kennedy, Sr. of Harmony and Loretta Main Prestopine of Newport News, Virginia. A 1991 graduate of Lincoln High School, Web attended Slippery Rock University. He married the former Tara Boffo on October 9, 2004. Web worked at NALCO in Franklin Township and was a member of Holy Redeemer Church. He enjoyed gardening and landscaping and he was a Steeler and Pirate fan. Web was also a member of the New Brighton S.O.I. Web loved spending time just being a dad, including coaching in the Ellwood City Girl’s Youth Softball League.
In addition to his parents, Web is survived by his wife, Tara, and their daughter, Emily Kennedy, at home, two sisters; Brenda Ludley and Pam Wheeler, both of Newport News, a half-sister, Ashley Prestopine, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Web was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, February 21st from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 22nd at 10:00 AM at Holy Redeemer Church. Interment will take place in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
