Mrs. Janet E. Hufnagel, 71, of Portersville passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 in the VNA Hospice, Butler, Pa.
Mrs. Hufnagel was born on October 21, 1945 in Ellwood City to the late Wilmer R. and Adda E. Twentier Young. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1963. For 23 years she worked at Butler Refrigerated Meats as the secretary for the transportation department. She is also a member of the Mountville Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed going to auctions, working puzzles, and most of all quilting and belonged to the Wurtembug Presbyterian Church Quilting Club.
She is survived by her sons, Mike Hufnagel of Ellwood City, John Hufnagel of Slippery Rock, and Aaron (Tammy) Hufnagel of West Liberty, her grandchildren, Nicholas Hufnagel, Jack Hufnagel, Christian Sarver, and Andrew Hufnagel, her sister, Doris Matthews of Finleyville, and her sister-in-law, Flora Vangorder of Perry Twp.. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold “Ike” Hufnagel who passed away on April 27, 1973, and her brothers, Edwin and Arthur Young.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 pm in the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services, and on Wednesday from 10-11 am in the Mountville Presbyterian Church. Services for Janet will held on Wednesday in the church with Doug Brenneman officiating. Interment will be at the Mountville Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Hufnagel’s name may be made to the Mountville Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund.
