Mrs. Helen M. Giancola, 79, of North Sewickley Twp. passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2016 in the Good Samaritan Hospice.
Mrs. Giancola was born on February 4, 1937 in Ellwood City to the late Ernest and Theresa Sandora DeCaro, Sr.. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1951. Helen, along with her husband Clem, was the co-owner/founder of Clem’s Electronics and the 8-Til-Late on 88 Food Mart in Franklin Twp., Clem’s Trailer Sales Inc. on Route 65, Riverside Chrysler Dodge, the Ellwood City Boron Station, Riverside Pizza, and the Beaver Valley RV Center in Beaver Falls. Helen was a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish and the Christian Mothers of the Holy Redeemer Parish. She enjoyed cooking, bingo, playing cards, going on bus trips, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Giancola is survived by her daughter, Julie (Robert) Richards of Brighton Twp., her sons, Greg Giancola of Brighton Twp., and Randy (Ann) Giancola of Cranberry Twp., her daughter-in-law, Maria Giancola of North Huntington, her grandchildren, Lilly Giancola, Stephen (Megan) Giancola, Daniel (Katie) Giancola, John Richards, Shelby Giancola, Jessica (Kenny) Robertson, Vinny Giancola, and Joey Giancola, and her great grand-daughter, Mackenzie Giancola. She is also survived by her sister, Pauline (Cosmo) Conforti of Franklin Twp., her brothers, Dr. John (Terese) DeCaro and Angelo DeCaro both of Ellwood City, her sister-in-law, Carol DeCaro of Ellwood City, her brother-in-law, Norman (Rose Marie) Giancola of North Sewickley Twp., and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clem J. Giancola, Jr. whom she married on September 8, 1956 and passed away on December 29, 2012, her son, Clem J. Giancola III, her brothers, Ernest DeCaro Jr. and Peter DeCaro, and her two nieces, Melissa Giancola and Mary Terese DeCaro.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8 pm in the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am in the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Mark Thomas officiating. Entombment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Mausoleum. Members of the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers are asked to meet at the church on Tuesday by 9:50 am to form an honor guard. Those attending the funeral mass are asked to meet at the funeral home on Tuesday by 9:20 am. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Giancola’s name may be made to the Holy Redeemer Angel Fund, or to the Good Samaritan Hospice Beaver Unit, c/o Concordia Lutheran Ministries Foundation, 134 Marwood Rd., Cabot, Pa 16023.
