Mrs. Hazel J. LaRitz, 81, of Ellwood City passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016 in the Allegheny General Hospital.
Mrs. LaRitz was born on August 11, 1935 in Ellwood City to the late Leamond L. and Esther A. LeFever Black. She is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1954 and the First Church of God in Franklin Twp.. Hazel had worked at the Green and Shears Bakery, Pettibon’s Dairy, Keller’s, and Health City all in Ellwood City.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years John J.LaRitz whom she married on October 26, 1957, her daughters, Debra J. (James R.) Greco of New Beaver Borough and Denise A. (Matt) Bintrim of Ellwood City, her grandchildren, Justin L. Yanssens, Richard W. “Ricky” Yanssens II and Jordan Bintrim, her great-grandchildren, Rocco T. Yanssens, Seth M. Yanssens, and the twins, Dusty and Shane. She is also survived by her brother, Leamond J. “Bud” Black of Rochester, and her sisters, Shirley A. Moore of Chippewa Twp., Flora M. (Daryl) Trautvetter of Rogers, OH and Linda L. Black of Seattle, WA, her sisters-in-law, Joyce Black of Colorado, Charlene (William) Shaffer of Ellwood City, Judy (Harold) Davis of Rochester, and Delores LaRitz of Ellwood City, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Howard Black, James Black, and David Black, her sisters, Elsie Black, Betty Black, and Janet Trautvetter, her sisters-in-law, Alice Black, and Thelma “Teep” LaRitz, and her brothers-in-law, James LaRitz, Eugene “Gene” LaRitz, Ray Trautvetter, and Glen “Bunk” Moore.
A Memorial Service for Hazel will be held at her church at date to be announced. Interment will be at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. The funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services.
