Meet the Team: Lincoln High School’s Volleyball Team

We interviewed the seniors and the coach from Lincoln’s High School volleyball team.

Coach

Q. How did you get into coaching volleyball?

A. I used to play for Lincoln’s high school team before I graduated. I went to Clarion for a Bachelors in medical imaging but while I’m looking for a job in that I decided to dedicate my time being the volleyball coach.

Q. How long have you been coaching?

A. This is my second season with varsity.

Q. How do you think the team feels about their upcoming season?

A. They’re definitely excited. There’s a lot of good energy and they’re growing as a team.

Q. When does the season officially start?

A. September 5th is their first section game against New Brighton.

 

Megan Sigfried

Years playing volleyball: 5

Q. What’s your favorite volleyball related memory?

A. When Brooklyn tried to spike a serve.

Q. What are you most looking forward to in the upcoming season?

A. Playing one last season with friends before we all graduate.

Q. What have you and the team been doing to prepare for the first game?

A. Getting in better shape.

Q. How do you hope to improve this year?

A. I hope that we can be a good example/leader for the younger girls.

Q. What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned from playing volleyball?

A. Teamwork is important.

Q. What will you miss about volleyball after graduation?

A. The team.

Q. Future plans?

A. Continuing school for an undeclared major at this point.

 

Erica Walley

Years playing volleyball: 6

Q. What are you most looking forward to in the upcoming season?

A. Moving into a better section.

Q. What have you and the team been doing to prepare for the first game?

A. Practicing twice a day.

Q. How do you hope to improve this year?

A. Hope to have an even better attitude.

Q. What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned from playing volleyball?

A. Teamwork is important.

Q. What will you miss about volleyball after graduation?

A. The team.

Q. Future plans?

A. Continuing school for premed.

 

Brooklyn Magill

Years playing volleyball: 5

Q. What are you most looking forward to in the upcoming season?

A. Playing with friends again.

Q. What have you and the team been doing to prepare for the first game?

A. Running daily and working out.

Q. Any opponents you think will be tough this year?

A. Shenango.

Q. What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned from playing volleyball?

A. Teamwork is important.

Q. What will you miss about volleyball after graduation?

A. The team.

A. Continuing school for nursing.
