Jennie Lonnett, 102

LottMrs. Jennie Lonnett, 102, of Ellwood City passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 in her residence with her loving children at her side.

Mrs. Lonnett was born on March 11, 1914 in Ellwood City to the late Domenic and Flora innocent Teolis. She is a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish and the Christian Mothers of the Holy Redeemer Parish. In her younger days, Jennie gave painting lessons, and delighted in walking to church every chance she got. She also enjoyed dancing with her husband Tony, sewing, and was a wonderful cook. She is a former member of the Municipal Women’s Club, and Challenges. Jennie will be sadly missed by her family of whom she loved to take care of.

Mrs. Lonnett is survived by her daughters, Doretta (Gene) Whalen of Pittsburgh, Doreen Palatka and her companion Walter Brewer of Maryland, and Lorraine (Carl) Koziar of Ellwood City, her sons, Denny (Carol) Lonnett of Ellwood City, Raymond Lonnett of Ellwood City, Anthony (Lynn) Lonnett of Utah, and Ron (Belinda) Lonnett of Patterson Twp., her sixteen grandchildren; Sonya, Jenna, Eva, Jessica, Rhiannon, Tyler, Whitney, John, Chris, Ryan, Jeff, Ray, Eric, Serena, Alex and Kevin, and her sixteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Samuel Teolis of Ellwood City and her many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Anthony “Tony” Lonnett whom she married on July 1, 1937 and passed away on September 29, 1993, her son, Johnny Lonnett, her sister, Annie D’Amico, and her brothers, Rev. Anthony Teolis, James Teolis, Fred Teolis, Antimo “Andy” Teolis and Sidney Teolis.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 3-8 pm in the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm in the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Zachary Galiyas officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Those attending the funeral mass are asked to meet at the funeral home on Saturday by 1:20 pm. Members of the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers are asked to meet at the church on Saturday by 1:50 pm to form an honor guard.
Mrs. Lonnett’s family would like to thank the Good Samaritan Hospice, John Lonnett, & Whitney Koziar for the wonderful care they have extended to her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be put towards Mass’s in Mrs. Lonnett’s name, or to the Holy Redeemer Angel Fund
