The Ellwood City softball team continued its undefeated streak following two victories against Neshannock and Shenango.
Following a 13-3 conference victory on Tuesday, April 26 versus Neshannock, the Lady Wolverines faced weather cancellations until playing Shenango on Saturday. Ellwood defeated Shenango 6-3.
Although the Lady Wolverines got off to a 2-0 head start in the first inning, Shenango pulled ahead 3-2 by the fourth. They were subsequently shut down by two runs each in the fifth and sixth innings.
The Lady Wolverines are 12-0 heading into the final rounds of conference play. They have a home game on Thursday against Mohawk.
Ellwood Baseball Suffers 4-0 Loss Against Flawless Pitching
The Ellwood City baseball team lost an away conference game 4-0 versus Hopewell on Friday. Hopewell’s Tim Sabo pitched a no hit game against the Wolverines.
Ellwood is now 5-13 overall and 3-7 in their conference. They play New Castle at home on Wednesday for senior recognition night.
Riverside Baseball Falls One Run Short
The Riverside baseball team lost an away conference game 2-1 versus Neshannock on Friday. Neshannock earned two runs in the first inning, and neither team had much offensive success afterward.
Riverside is 13-2 overall and 5-2 in their conference. They host Beaver Falls today for senior recognition night.
