Katherine “Kay” Krupa, 74 of Fourth Avenue, Koppel passed away at the ER of the Ellwood City Hospital on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 8:12 p.m.
Born in Ellwood City on Nov. 22, 1941, Kay was the daughter of the late Jim and Doris Hollinback Hazen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward D. Krupa on Sept. 30, 2011. They were married on Sept. 9, 1958. Kay had retired as a Registered Nurse at the Beaver Medical Center where she worked for over 25 years. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish. She was also a member of the Monday Bible Study Group and the Christian Mothers at the former Queen of Heaven Church in Koppel.
She enjoyed spending time with her card club friends. She loved to bake and cook but mostly enjoyed the time she spent with her family.
Kay is survived by three sons, Edward David Krupa, Jr., Jeffrey J. and Karen Krupa and Christopher J. Krupa all of Koppel, three grandchildren, Sean J., Katie and Vincent Krupa, a brother, Jim Hazen of Neshannock Twp. and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Eileen and Ben Luxenberg of Roselle, Ill.
Besides her parents and husband, Kay was preceded in death by her loving dog Mickey.
Friends may call at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 2 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Redeemer Chruch on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Contributions can be made in Kay’s name to Holy Redeemer Social Services.
