Betty M. D’Amico, 90, of Ellwood City passed away on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015 at Allegheny General Hospital.
Born in Ellwood City on Oct. 18, 1925, Betty was the daughter of the late Nick and Frances Foderaro D’Amico. She retired from G.C. Murphy Co. in 1985 after 37 years of service as a bookkeeper and cashier. Betty was a member of Holy Redeemer Church. She always joined the Murphy Co. retirees for their monthly lunches. Betty was everyone’s favorite aunt. She enjoyed spending time with her family, always remembering birthdays and special occasions.
Betty is survived by her sister, Ann Colega of Pittsburgh, a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Marj D’Amico of Beaver, four nieces and their spouses; Patricia and Rick Palastro, Diane and Larry Fischer, Adrienne and Jeff Jellison, Linda and Oliver Hennessy and two nephews and their wives; Tony and Cheryl Colega and Glenn and Dottie D’Amico.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Pat D’Amico.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, Dec. 8 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Ave., Ellport.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Church with Fr. Zach Galiyas. Entombment will follow in Assumption Mausoleum, Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
