Bonnie V. Dawson, 83, of North Sewickley Twp., passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015 at Evergreen Nursing Center.
Born in Ellwood City on Oct. 28, 1931, Bonnie was the daughter of the late Melvin and Lady Dot Coates Butler. She married William E. Dawson on Aug. 12, 1949 and he preceded her in death this past December. Bonnie was a 1949 graduate of Lincoln High School. She was an avid reader who enjoyed bird watching. She and her husband loved to go camping and travel, especially to the Outer Banks. She retired from the cafeteria at Riverside High School where she worked for 17 years.
Bonnie is survived by her children and their spouses, William E. Dawson of Poland, Ohio, Betty Joann and John Krestel of Ellwood City, Robert and Anne Dawson of Ellwood City, two sisters; Melva Krupa of Potter Twp. and Sondra Hudson of Franklin, Pa., three grandchildren; Alex Dawson, Derek Dawson, and Phil (Gwen) DeCarbo and a great-granddaughter, Kiera DeCarbo.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Bonnie was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Keith Butler and her daughter-in-law, Mary Dawson.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31 in the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Ave., Ellport. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
