Open Street Event to Celebrate Phase One of Bike Route

Updated: 5/19 at 8am: The Ellwood City Kitchen Cabinet is excited to be hosting an Open Street Event in celebration of the completion of Ellwood City’s new bike route. Fine Arts Festival

On Tuesday, May 16, the public is invited to attend the inaugural spring Fine Arts Festival at Lincoln Junior-Senior High School. The show, which is free to the public, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.  Student work will be on display through the first floor and library, and refreshments will be served in the cafeteria. Senator Vogel to Host Veterans’ Specialist at New Castle District Office

Senator Vogel announced today that he will host a veterans’ specialist in his New Castle District Office to assist constituents with various issues related to their military service. Stephanie Bengoa of the American Legion Veterans Assistance Program will be available on Wednesday, May 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Senator Vogel’s New Castle Office (1905 W State St New Castle). Family literacy programs can provide opportunities for education success for parents and children.  These programs can serve as models of family involvement, showing how families can become part of an extended classroom and build on the work of the school.  Engagement in family programs does not have to stop because a parent is incarcerated.
